Basildon is a great place to visit when you fancy a day out and some time just to relax and wind down, with friends and family or solo.
Basildon is located within Essex, England. It was founded after World War II, built new for the purpose of homing Londoners with no where to live. It grew over time and is now the town as we know it. It shares its government with its neighbouring towns Wickford and Billericay and some other smaller surrounding towns. The town of Basildon is heavily populated, in fact it is one of the busiest places in the country. Basildon had various names over the centuries, starting as Boerthaldun going onto Belesduna. Basildon is famous for its men’s football teams, some which include Basildon United and Bowers & Pitsea F.C. There are plenty of shops in the town centre such as Topshop and many like to go there.
One good place to visit it Noak Bridge Nature Reserve, where you can go for a lovely stroll past the lake and look out for the many different types of wildlife such as birds like Blackbirds, Jays, Herons, Wrens and you can look for frogs and newts in the lake. You could also visit Wat Tyler Country Park, a lovely place to spend the day and have a picnic with your family. With 125 acres of land there’s plenty to explore and many trees to climb. There is even a miniature railway to go on with your children as well as a visitor centre and an amazing adventure playground for your tiddlers. If you fancy spending a lovely day out but you don’t want to pay out a lot, The Wat Tyler Country Park is a definite recommendation. You could even have a cuddle with a giant snake at one of the events held there. There are also good routes for mountain bikes there for a great day of bike riding. If you want to spend more than a day at this Country Park there is even a hotel nearby.
